This page contains a multimedia course curriculum for first semester algebra-based high school physics. It was developed by HippoCampus, part of Open Education Resources (OER), a project that provides cost-free multimedia curriculum materials for high school and college-level courses. This particular resource explores topics relating to Newtonian mechanics and concludes with brief units on fluid mechanics and thermal physics. The course emphasizes simulation-based problem solving, self-paced tutorials, and hands-on labs. Materials are formatted in Adobe Flash, with multiple short video clips, animations, and interactive question-and-answer sets. Narration accompanying each slide may be turned on or off. Lab guides and worksheets are available in pdf format.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Of particular interest to physics teachers and learners is that each module is specifically correlated to more than a dozen widely-used physics textbooks. Lesson materials are organized by course, unit, and by key-word. Please note that this resource requires Flash.
