This page contains two short video clips of waves in a ripple tank. One shows ripples from a stationary source that students can analyze to find the frequency and wavelength of the waves. The second video shows the source moving at a constant velocity through the water. An analysis of this movie shows agreement with the Doppler formula. LivePhoto Physics uses high-speed DV format videography in which action may be stepped frame-by-frame, enabling easy use of video analysis software. The videos are 10-30 frames in length and may be viewed in step motion or real-time. Position and time data may be measured and collected by using video-analysis tools.
