This interactive tutorial introduces students to light reflection. It features three Java simulations, along with illustrated text explanations, to explore the Law of Reflection, convexity, and concavity. The section on Specular and Diffuse reflection will help students clearly understand why the amount of light reflected by an object is highly dependent upon the texture of its surface.
This item is part of a larger collection of materials on optics and microscopy developed by the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. SEE RELATED MATERIALS on this page for a link to the full index.
