This web site contains a free introductory textbook on the topic of Optics.  It is part of the Light and Matter series of textbooks,  designed for high school and college students with little or no background in calculus.  In this section of Light and Matter, the author explores the ray model of light, reflection, refraction, anatomy of the human eye, and a brief introduction to wave optics.  Applications of calculus are treated in optional sections at the end of certain chapters.

This item is part of a larger series of cost-free introductory physics textbooks by the same author. SEE RELATED ITEMS on this page for a link to the full collection.
