This is a multimedia module on the life and contributions of Galileo. It includes a four-part interactive section in which students can conduct virtual versions of his classic "thought" experiments, including gravitational force on falling objects, inclined planes, and pendulum motion. Users can also explore an illustrated chronology of Galileo's achievements.
Editor's Note: This resource was developed to supplement the three-hour NOVA video, "Galileo's Battle for the Heavens". The video, originally broadcast in 2002, is still aired periodically. It is also available for purchase from NOVA. Please note that this resource requires Flash.
